In the March 10, 1981 'Leader', Ngaire, 14, had been selected for the New Zealand women's team, to compete in a world Series in Brisbane, later in the year.
In the February 9, 1982 'leader' she was 15, captain of the new Zealand schoolgirls' water polo team, and a member of the national women's team.
