DescriptionThe April 15, 1980 'Leader' headed this picture "New 'steamboat' police statin for city"; the similarity to a Mississippi steamboat had been noticed by some officers at Police national headquarters. cabinet had approved the calling for tenders, and it should be ready by early 1983.
The basement would be used for storage and service equipment; ground floor:- reception, watch house and uniform branch; first floor:- administration offices; second floor:- CIB, canteen, cafeteria. A two-storey cell block would be built facing the courthouse.
