The city council had allocated land to the club, and there would be a sealed parking area for 300 vehicles, a fully-enclosed first-class playing field with adequate spectator facilities; the club had been invited to erect their own headquarters building; the junior, ladies' and senior divisions of the club had each nominated two members to a committee which would investigate ways and means.
Planning consent was granted in 1978, but the November 1, 1988 'Leader' reported that the consent had lapsed, with the gymnasium incomplete; the club had not applied for an extension of time within three months of the expiry. The council had now given the club 28 days to make a new application.
In 2013 the club's headquarters moved to Maidstone park, where artificial-turf floodlit grounds had been completed
