DescriptionThe plan was printed in the November 6, 1974 'Leader' with a list of new work approved by the district roads council; National Roads Board approval was expected.
The map shows the Silverstream-Moonshine motorway continuing north of the Hutt River, and Pine Avenue crossing the river to connect to Totara Park and the motorway; and Savage Crescent connecting to Sinclair Street for some reason. there was no comment on thee features.
The article reported that $545 000 would be spent on the bypass (Silverstream-Moonshine?) in the first year (year 3 of the current plan). Moonshine Bridge work would start in 1976 and cost $600 000, and river road building in 1977 would cost $900 000. $100 000 would be spent improving State Highway 2 from Maoribank to Brown Owl.
