DescriptionPrinted in a 3-page Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board advertising feature in the January 27, 1971 'Leader'. The board's supply came from a 'gate' near Porirua, supplied by the Natural Gas Corporation; the 'gate had opened on December 14. The January 20 'Leader' had printed a picture of board members and the corporation's manager at the Porirua meter.
The Board had been laying pipes in Upper Hutt since September 1969, and 10 miles/16 km of mains had been installed so far.
