DescriptionPrinted in the March 4, 190 'Leader'; it opened on April 8. A cropped version appeared in an April 8 'Leader' advertisement.
Manager Brian Cooper described it as a 'supermarket', succeeding the seedman behind his counter, with his rows and rows of seed drawers, usually in a dark and cramped shop.
A 1991 article on his retirement said he ad bought the property in 1969, and built the business. The abandoned site was finally cleared in 2013.
