DescriptionPrinted in the September 30, 1970 'Leader' in black and white; a greyscale scan gave a much better result.
No location was given. It was estimated to cost $40 000, and would be built by voluntary labour.
Two weeks earlier, the paper had printed pictures of the mayor and many other officials at the Rugby Club, where work had just started on their new gymnasium/grandstand.
Almost certainly the project did not succeed, and the boxing club uses the rugby gymnasium; drivers are directed to 19 Railway Avenue, next door; an empty section available for parking.
