DescriptionPrinted in the March 19, 1969 'Leader'.
The article was about the new sports pavilion (bottom left), which had been designed by the city engineer's department and detailed and supervised by Mr G Walker, recently employed there.
Its area was 4900 square feet/455 square metres.
There were four changing rooms with showers and toilets at each end of the building, with a central large social hall; two store rooms were provided. plus a room each for first aiders and referees.
The background grid seems to be a side-effect from an angled screen which defeated the scanner's de-screening function.
