The factory would replace one in Tory Street, Wellington; part of that building was needed for motorway access, and it was 45 years old and diffccult to modify. The new building would employ around 45 people; 30 would be women. They would produce approximately seven thousand million matches a year. The building was designed byFletcher Group Services and would be built by the Fletcher Condstruction Company Ltd.
