DescriptionPrinted in the May 11, 1966 'Leader'; models and plans had just been presented to the public at a council meeting held in the General Motors warehouse canteen, Railway Avenue. After speeches from the Town Clerk, Parks and Reserves Department, Borough Librarian, architect Mr Gabites, Borough Engineer, the mayor moved that the borough apply to the Loans Board for permission to raise a loan; he was seconded by the chairman of the finannce committee, and the council passed the motion unanimously.
The draughtsman must have been left-handed; vertical lines of print normally face the other way.
The architects were Gabites and Beard.
A more limited version with lettering changed to upper-case was printed in an August 2, 1967 'Leader' advertisement for a $372 000 cash loan.
