A forum of Wairarapa local bodies and their M P wasaddressed by the Distict Highways Engineer of the Ministry of Works.
Population north of Upper Hutt (in Hutt County) was expected to equal Upper Hutt's within a decade, and there was a project to reclaim a huge area of wetland near Lake Wairarapa. Traffic ws growing at 6% per annum.
