Jenny Brown "Wonder what street this is in?"
Rose Vailima "Liverpool l think"
Shirley McNicholl "My grandma grandad lived across the road. Liverpool street. Grandma's sister was in one of the flats."
Joyce Stewart "Shirley McNicholl - My great aunt Janet Anderson also lived in those flats. She moved from Whakatiki Street when her husband passed away. Then she went to back to Scotland, found it too cold for her to survive, so came back to Upper Hutt. She was also friends with your grandma Mrs Tunnell!"
Hazel McIntosh "Shirley Briscoe!! who was Kate's sister? Originally, the land was next to Jepson's on one side & Tui Stokes stables, later Oliver's on the other. My brother chased a peeping Tom through it before the flats were erected. It was late one Sat., night after Harold Searles's 21st. He tripped over the wire on an old dividing fence into Bristol St. so was unfortunate not to catch him. There were two guys doing this, the taller one put the little guy on his shoulders. We knew who they were but too cunning to be caught. I've digressed but that area still holds such memories for us."
Hazel McIntosh "I think you will find that those flats were demolished & new ones erected! Now angled for the sun!"
