DescriptionNotes for the photograph read:
'Kaitoke Station with the Hutt Valley in the distance. Mrs Hyslop said the railcar is travelling towards the Waiarapa. According to the back of the photo the buildings in order are the hostel for girls who worked at the refreshment rooms, the Hyslop house and the refreshment rooms. It is unclear if this is the order from the front or the back of the photo. When compared with Kaitoke 19 photo, it would seem the hostel is on the right of the photo. The signal box may be beyond the railcar. Photo taken May 1952.'
