AddBy: Lizzie Errington26th Feb 2026 3:29PMThe following comment was shared on a post on the Upper Hutt Heritage Facebook page on February 24, 2026:
Shirley Kittelty - "Yes Joyce, Russell Bailey, Gordon Anderson and Peter Hepburn."
John Anderson - "I can remember that sheep being washed in an old baby bath before it went to judging."
Joyce Stewart (via 'You know you grew up...') - "This was the Lamb and Calf Club that we had at Upper Hutt School. Feel that that could be my brother Gordon Anderson in the white shirt, holding the sheep. Before judging day he would bring it home from Brown's Farm in Whitemans Valley and wash him in Persil Soap Powder in our baby bath. Hence the name - Persil!!!"
Alistair Montgomery (via 'You know you grew up...') - "Grant Marshall in the white shirt with the sheep Richard Bryant in the grey jacket not sure about the others."
