    By: Brian J. Pearce2nd Oct 2014 9:15PMThis bridge was built by contractors Sykes and Shaw of Upper Hutt. It comprised six 40-foot spans and had a roadway width of 14 feet. The construction contract price (which was exceeded) was 2049 pounds. The structure was officially opened on 24 May 1913 by the Member of Parliament for Hutt (1902-1917), T.M. Wilford. The bridge was demolished in 1987.
