"Filling your own used to be very common, flagons of wine more so, those were the day's when hotels would serve a jug (beer Jug) with a top shelf pre mix, bourbon and coke would have been the most popular, however the effects on customers had deemed it necessary to stop this practice, about the same time glass jug's were replaced with plastic ones for safety reasons."
