Golders' Cottage; 60-years-old dolls' house.

DescriptionCaption: Little Aimee Passmore is dwarfed by this dolls house which is over 60 years old and has been on display at Golder's Cottage since shortly before Christmas.

Aimee is the great great grandaughter of Francis Golder, the third son born to John and Jane Golder - the original inhabitants of the cottage.

The dolls' house was donated by Upper Hutt woman Marie Benge whose mother won it in a fundraising raffle in the 1930s with the last ticket. The raffle raised 450 pounds for a residential nursery. After recently moving to a new house Marie decided to donate her treasured house to Golder's Cottage.

Beautifully fitted out, the eight-roomed "Lilliputian Mansion Deluxe" was built and furnished by Mrs and Mr Alec Crawford, the original settler family on the Crawford Peninsula in Miramar.
