DescriptionOne of a series of scale models made by Jack Collier, around 2002. They were sometimes based on photographs. Many of them are displayed in the Golder Cottage Museum.
He sent photographs to the 'Leader' for publication. The collection has 13, covering the Blockhouse, Golder Cottage, Hazelwood's second building, 'McCurdy's Castle', Upper Hutt Station, Wallaceville Church and a row of 'memorable longdrops'. 11 have been scanned for 'Recollect'; 2 views of the Wallaceville church have not.
There are also models of Pumpkin Cottage and Wairau Cottage somewhere.

The April 17, 2002 'Leader' pictured Jack with the partly-completed 'castle'; the ground-floor veranda had not been added, and other changes during the life of the building are listed.
Jack's model/s had been on display in the Library during Heritage Month 2003, and he had talked about them at the Golder Cottage Museum Trust's AGM; the 'castle' was also pictured with Jack Collier and Jack Danahay in the July 30 'Leader'; it had been carried to the site of the original building.Date Taken2002 or 2003
