Two surgical suites, examination rooms, X-ray facilities, recovery rooms and sterilisation equipment would be built in rooms previously used by a discontinued orthotics and prosthetics course.
Dr Robert Eckles, co-ordinator for final-year podiatry;
Dr Marc Lindy, co-ordinator for surgical training;
Helen Clark, Deputy Prime Minister;
Jim Philps, podiatry course supervisor.
Foot surgery had been traditionally been done in hospitals under general anaesthetic, but all of it could (and would) be done here using local anaesthetic.
