DescriptionPrinted in greyscale in the ‘Leader’ on July 31, 1990.
The model would be exhibited in the library.
It had been made by Councillor Stephen Wilson.
The former Heretaunga-Pinehaven District Council building is at left, and a rail shed and a connection to Silver Stream Railway at right; there might be a connection to the main railway near the church, at left. The other buildings were not specific, but might include cottages, a town hall, stables, a motor garage, a school, a printing works, and a site for Māori cultural activities.
The Historic Village Trust board included a Historic Places Trust member; that trust had given the Village trust is first grant.
The land would be leased from the city council; Hutt International Boys' School was using the former District Council building, and their future plans could affect the project.
A revised version of the model was pictured on June 25, 1991; it was on show in a hobbies and pastimes exhibition.
After Hutt International Boys' School moved to Trentham Racecourse, the former council building was sold to Glen Tomlinson, a Blenheim rest home operator, at the end of 1994, for $365 000; he planned to convert it into a 40-bed rest home, and to add 13 self-contained villas.
