DescriptionPrinted in greyscale in the ‘Leader’ on October 25, 1989. A picture of Medic Alert's international president had been printed the week before, and after the presentation.
The international foundation's president had presented him with an International Voluntary Medic Alert Award in October 1989 during a visit where he was learning about the New Zealand computer system and database. John had received a President's Award a few years earlier.
John had been with the New Zealand Medic Alert Foundation since 1980, and was its director until he died in an accident on May 4, 1997.
Medic Alert's New Zealand head office is still in Astral Towers (later renamed CBD Towers).
